Welcome to the National Hemorrhoid Society. This is a place where you can find useful information about hemorrhoids, as well as practical advice about prevention and treatment. It is estimated that as many as 50% of Americans have experienced hemorrhoid symptoms by the time they reach the age of 50. That means that at least 100 million Americans have some personal experience with hemorrhoids. Why then are we so secretive and embarrassed by the condition? And why don't we already have a national society? This website is an attempt to be both practical and somewhat lighthearted about this common, painful, and sometimes debilitating condition. You can find the personal testimony of the founder of the National Hemorrhoid Society here.
The National Hemorrhoid Society does not have annual meetings (yet) and it does not hold fundraisers (yet). If you are interested in such things you are welcome to organize them. Someone from the main office will be happy to be a keynote speaker or star in a TV spot, but we lack the time and organizational skills to do more than that.

In other words, we don't carry malpractice insurance, so don't bother suing us!
